KATHUA, Aug 7: Forest Department seized two trallas carrying pine wood.
An official spokesman said that, a team of Forest Department comprising of Subash Chander, Range Officer Kathua, Munish Gupta, RO Lakhanpur and Pankaj, BO HQ Kathua under the overall supervision of Ashwani Kumar, DFO Kathua laid a naka at Govindar and intercepted two trallas bearing registration number HR63B-3284 and HR51A-1289.
During checking, team recovered red-wood pine ballas, which the drivers of the vehicle were transporting without valid documents.
The seized vehicles along with the stuff were brought to Forest Complex, Kathua and a case has been registered for the violation of Land Transport Rules Under Section 15, 16 of J&K Forest Act, 1987 and confiscation proceedings have been also been initiated under Section 26 of J&K Forest Act, Samvat 1987.
