Trains from Srinagar to Banihal remain suspended, to Baramulla resumed

SRINAGAR :  The Srinagar-Banihal rail service remained suspended for the second day today while rail run from summer capital to Baramulla in north Kashmir resumed this morning.
A Railway official told UNI that all trains operating between Srinagar to  Banihal in Jammu region via south Kashmir, including Pulwama, Anantnag and Qazigund, remained suspended for the second day today for security reasons.
”  Due to encounter and protests in Pulwama in south Kashmir, we were advised to suspend the train service in the valley for security reasons yesterday.
Though in the morning some trains operated but later rail service was suspended for entire day,” he said.
Since there is tension in the south Kashmir today also, rail service from Srinagar- Pampore, Awantipora. Bijbehara, Anantnag and Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region remained suspended.
However, Srinagar-Baramulla service resumed this morning and and all trains were operating normally. (AGENCIES)
