Trains cancelled, others diverted

JAMMU, July 11: In view of prevailing bad weather conditions followed by torrential rainfall in various parts of the country, all trains originating from Jammu Tawi and Mata Vaishno Devi were either cancelled or diverted by changing their route today.
Similarly, all Jammu bound trains also remained cancelled today and only Katra designated trains from Delhi reached here, though delayed.
According to Station Superintendent Jammu, Jugal Sharma, 19 trains were cancelled while routes of six others were diverted in view of the prevailing flood like situation and bad weather.
Trains, which were cancelled today, included 22461, 14609, 12445, 14033, 14645, 12425, 12413, 12237, 13151, 11077, 12472, 12920, 12238, 14034, 14610, 12414, 12426, 12446 and 11078.
The trains, which started by changing their route to facilitate the stranded passengers, included 19224, 19416, 18310, 12470, 13152 and 14646.
In view of the cancellation of the trains, Northern Railway has established additional counters at Jammu Tawi Railway Station to facilitate the passengers for further booking and refund of cancelled tickets.
In a statement, Station Director NR Jammu Tawi, Prateek Srivastava said that like other stations, extra counters have been opened to facilitate the passengers at Jammu-Tawi, Rly Station, as some trains have been cancelled till further orders.
Status of the trains scheduled to originate from Jammu or reach here tomorrow will depend on the weather conditions, Railway authorities said.
