Training session on ‘Security Features of Bank Notes’ organized for Commerce College students

JAMMU, Mar 9: Department of Commerce and IQAC Cell of the Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu in collaboration with RBI Jammu under the aegis of G20 organized a training session for BCom/BBA/BCA students on “Security Features of Bank Notes and Note Refund Rules Commemorating Currency Week”.
Principal of Government SPMR College of Commerce, Dr Surinder Kumar was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Shubam Meena and Subin Kundal from RBI were resource persons for the training session.
In first training session, Shubam Meena (Manager, RBI) discussed in detail about Indian Bank Notes including its major securities features for deciding the genuineness like, water mark, intaglio printing, security threat, micro lettering, optically variable ink, latent image and bleed lines.
In 2nd session, Subin Kundal (Assistant Manager, RBI) enlightened the students with RBI Note Refund Rules, 2009 and (Amendments) 2018 where he discussed about various types of mutilated notes and their exchange procedure.
The resource persons also had an interactive session with the students where they also shared career related opportunities available in RBI. The students of semester 3rd and 5th of the college attended the programme. More than 80 Students participated in the event with full vigour and enthusiasm.
Faculty who attended the programme included Dr Monika Malhotra, Dr Vaishali, Dr Ramandeep, Prof Charandeep Handa, Prof Kusha, Prof Sindhu and others.
Earlier, Dr Shipra Gupta presented welcome address. The proceedings of the event were coordinated and managed by Prof Barbara Kaul (HoD Commerce), Dr Monika Malhotra, Dr Sarabjeet Kaur, Dr Jagmeet, Dr Shipra and Dr Fayza.
