Training programme on ‘Safety of Women’ begins at Police Academy

UDHAMPUR, Feb 5: A comprehensive five-day training programme for investigators on the crucial subject of “Safety of Women” began today at the Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy in Udhampur.
The course is being attended by 22 Police officers hailing from various regions across Jammu & Kashmir. The inauguration of the programme was undertaken by Rakesh Sambyal, Chief Prosecuting Officer of SKPA Udhampur.
Emphasizing the significance of the training, Rakesh Sambyal urged the officers to enhance their professional competence as investigators, specifically focusing on offenses against women and children, including the ever-evolving realm of Cyber Crime.
The primary objective of the course is to ensure that the cases these officers handle lead to successful convictions. To achieve this goal, the course has been thoughtfully designed to encompass investigation skills and impart the latest knowledge of provisions of law, such as POCSO, JJ Act, IT Act, and others of relevance.
Eminent speakers from academia and renowned Cyber Forensic experts are slated to deliver lectures during the course, enriching the learning experience.
In addition to the distinguished guests, Dr Kavita Suri, Director of the Department of Life Long Learning at the University of Jammu, attended the inaugural function.
The coordination of this critical training programme is being handled by Sandeep Mahajan, Inspector, and HC Randip Singh, both members of the faculty at the academy.
