Training program on ‘Branding & Packaging begins at SKUAST-J

JAMMU, Mar 12: A transformative two-day training program on “Branding and Packaging in Agribusiness” began today at SKUAST-Jammu.
This initiative is part of the HADP project entitled “Strengthening Agricultural Marketing in Union Territory of J&K.” The program aims to empower participants with essential knowledge and skills for effective branding and packaging in agribusiness, with a focus on uplifting farmers in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jagdeep Sunkad, Senior Innovator, Bangaluru CEO, Kanakadhar Agricultural Innovations, graced the occasion as chief guest while Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Student Welfare, SKUAST-Jammu and Professor Jyoti Kachroo, Head AEABM, SKUAST-Jammu were special guests during the programme.
Dr Sudhakar Dwivedi (Convener) shared a word of wisdom highlighting the paramount importance of branding and packaging in the agriculture sector.
Earlier, Professor Jyoti Kachroo (Course Director), Head AEABM, SKUAST-Jammu, provided an insightful overview of the training program. She emphasized the establishment of a branding center in SKUAST-Jammu, dedicated to assisting farmers in creating a brand for their products.
Resource persons Jagdeep Sunkad, Senior Innovator, Bangaluru CEO, Kanakadhar Agricultural Innovations, and Gagan Jain, Director, VKC Nuts Pvt Ltd, enriched the participants with their expertise.
Jagdeep Sunkad, a seasoned Senior Innovator from Bangaluru and CEO of Kanakadhar Agricultural Innovations, brought forth his extensive expertise in agribusiness, underscoring the critical role of branding and packaging. On the other hand, Gagan Jain, Director of VKC Nuts Pvt Ltd, enriched the participants with his industry insights, highlighting the paramount importance of effective branding and packaging through illustrative examples.
Those participating in the training programme, include FPO members, progressive farmers, SHG group members and students of Division of Agricultural economics and Agrbusiness management. The programe was coordinated by Dr Anil Bhat, Assistant Professor, AEABM. Dr Malika Sharma, Dr Mahesh Koul and project staff were also present on the occasion.
The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr S P Singh (Convener), Associate Professor, Division of AEABM, SKUAST-Jammu. Proceedings of the programme were conducted by Neer Somakka and Eva Sharma.
