JAMMU, Nov 10: Two day training programme for Junior and Youth Red Cross Counselors organized by Indian Red Cross Society commenced today.
In this training programme Junior and Youth Red Cross Counselors from different schools and colleges of Jammu province are participating. The training will include first aid procedures, disaster management and family news service.
The training programme was inaugurated by Ajit Kumar Sahu, Chairman, District Red Cross Committee and Deputy Commissioner Jammu.
While speaking, Sahu said college students need to be imparted humanitarian values and action in order to grow into better human beings.
Sahu urged upon the youth to work with passion and make humanitarian action their mission. He also apprised the participants the activities and programmes organized by the District Red Cross Society, Jammu.
He impressed upon the officers to put in their best efforts to raise and mobilize resources to enable the Society to help the people in the district.
Sahu assured full support from district administration for the activities of Red Cross.
Earlier, Roma Wani, general secretary, Indian Red Cross Society presented the welcome address, whereas in the end, executive secretary of Jammu, Suresh Sharma presented vote of thanks.
