Train operations resume between Nurpur and Baijnath stations

JAMMU, Nov 2: Train operations resumed today between Nurpur and Baijnath stations of heritage narrow gauge line between Pathankot-Joginder Nagar, which is also known as Kangra Valley Railway.
Initially two pairs of trains in each direction have been planned by the Railways to bring connectivity back for the people of this region after the Bridge 32 on Chakki River got washed out on July 14, this year.
Railways has done a commendable job of getting the pit work and other related works relates to track and coach maintenance completed in a short span of time so that train operations get resumed in this section. Extra engines and coaches are also planned to be brought here so that train services can increase.
To provide speedy assistance in case of any untoward incident, ART (Accident Relief Train) which was earlier stationed at Pathankot has also been brought to Nurpur station. First train ex Nurpur stn 04699 departed right time at 06:00 hrs and first ex train ex Baijnath Paprola also departed right time at 06:00 hrs. Second set of trains departing time has been scheduled at 15:00 hrs ex both the terminal stations. Crossing of the trains happened at Jwalamukhi road station.
The section was closed since more than four months due to which the movement of people of this portion of Kangra district was badly affected. Now with the train services getting resumed, it will bring a solace to the people of this region and will help with the movement of people whether it is for education, trade or other reasons.
