JU signs MoU for IoT training; VC proposes credit for professional experience

JAMMU, Nov 2: The University of Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for imparting various training programmes in the field of IoT (Internet of Things) at PG Department of Computer Science and IT with Advance tech India Pvt Ltd, Mohali.
In the presence of JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Umesh Rai, the MoU was signed by Prof Arvind Jasrotia, Registrar JU and Arvind Dixit, Director, Advance tech.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Umesh Rai envisioned that the credits to the professional knowledge must be given by which employees of the private companies can earn a degree from the University of Jammu, that will help in achieving the collaborations of industry with academia as mandated in New Education Policy (NEP-2020).
Prof Rai impressed upon HoD, Computer Sciences & IT to prepare a draft in this regard so that the same can be placed before relevant bodies for its implementation. He hoped that such MoU will provide further avenues to the students and scholars of the Department of Computer Science and IT.
JU Registrar, Prof Arvind Jasrotia emphasized that this MoU shall open new opportunities in key industry practices and skills besides providing exposure to live projects and hands-on practical training to the students of MCA and M Tech.
Prof Pawanesh Abrol, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, while briefing the objectives, informed that the department has been taking various initiatives like organising technical lectures, FDPs, invited talks, workshops in the latest fields and technologies. Prof Abrol reiterated that, MoU between Advance tech and Department of Computer Science shall provide significant exposures to the scholars, students and the faculty in the field of IoT.
Arvind Dixit, Director Advance tech, expressed willingness of the company to facilitate the effective utilization of the intellectual capabilities of Advance tech in the domains of IoT and also extended its full support to the departmental initiatives. Prof Vinod Sharma, Prof Lalit Sen Sharma, Dr Shubhnandan S Jamwal and Jasbir Singh were also present on the occasion of the signing of the MoU.
