SRINAGAR : Traffic on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, which connects Kashmir with the rest of the country, and 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh national highway remained suspended due to landslides at many places, triggered by heavy rains. Official sources said 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway remained suspended for the third day today due to landslides at many places and waterlogging at Qazigund following heavy rain during the last four days. They said it was still raining, hampering the landslide clearance operations by Border Roads Organisation, responsible for the maintenance of the highway.
Thousands of vehicles remained stranded on the highway. Meanwhile, the highway connecting the Ladakh region with the rest of the state also remained suspended due to landslides for the second day today.
