Traffic police realises crores of rupees as fine

Srinagar, Aug 17: Traffic authorities have realized crores of rupees from violators for violating traffic rules as also seized thousands of vehicles which were plying in contravention of traffic rules.
In this connection Traffic Police City (N) Jammu has realized an amount of Rs 1,75,67,350 from traffic violators during the period of February 1 to June 2018 and seized 3711 vehicles which were found plying in contravention of traffic rules. Besides that 70,163 challans have been done against different vehicles.
It is also said that no vehicle of bureaucrat, Judge and Army vehicle has been challaned or booked during the said period and no traffic police personnel has been suspended for taking bribe during the said period.
Traffic Police Rural Jammu seized 1758 vehicles while violating traffic regulations and 69214 vehicles have been challenged by the authorities from February to June 2018.Amount which has been realized from violators is Rs 1,45,93, 170 during this period.
Likewise Traffic Police National Highway Ramban submits that 387 vehicles have been seized from February to June and 26249 challans have been done against different vehicles besides that Rs 82,78,520 has been recovered through challans.
