Traffic on Kashmir highway resumes, only stranded vehicles allowed to move

SRINAGAR: Traffic on the national highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, has resumed after remaining suspended since yesterday due to landslide, triggered by heavy rain.       However, only stranded vehicles from both sides have been allowed to move towards their respective destinations since this evening, a traffic police official said.

Traffic was suspended since yesterday evening on 300-km-long national highway due to a big landslide, triggered by rain at Marog in Ramban in Jammu region. However, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway, put into service sophisticated machines and men and put through the highway again.  (AGENCIES)
