SAMBA, Oct 23: Wrong parking of vehicles at public places and in front of Government offices in Vijaypur town has created traffic hazards in the area which can even be cause of fatal accidents also.
There is a lot of resentment among the people of the area against the wrong parking and failure of Traffic Police to set the things right. The people and employees of the adjoining areas of Vijaypur town often park their vehicles along the National Highway, hospital, in the block ground, Petrol Pump and even in Main Bazaar. The wrong parking is the main reason of daily traffic jams in the town putting normal life to out of gear, alleged the people or the town.
Many times It become difficult to pass through the town or shift serious patients to the Hospital in an ambulance, they said, adding even wrong parking can put the anti social elements including militants to an advantage of strike. The matter especially the parking of vehicles in front of hospital and along NH was taken up with administration but to no avail, the added.
They said it is the duty of Municipal Council to make the arrangements of parking within town. But no action has been taken in this context by them too. Though some land is available in the town for construction of parking slots on which the mafia is also keeping an eye to grab it but authorities lack interest in converting the same as parking slots, people said. The prominent citizens of the town said the Municipal Committee should identify the land and recommend the same for parking.
