JAMMU, Apr 3: Members of various trade bodies of Jammu held strong protest demonstration in front of the office of Commercial Taxes Department at Rail Head complex here today.
The members under the banner of Chamber of  Traders Federation led by its president,  Neeraj Anand assembled outside the office of  Commercial Taxes Department  during the day and started protest demonstration.  The protesting traders were shouting slogans against the CT  authorities  and also in support of their demands.
The traders were also raising slogans against DC Commercial Taxes Lakhanpur, Puneet  Sharma and accused him of adopting unprofessional  and insensitive approach, leading to the harassment of the trading community, especially those from Jammu region.
After holding protest for some time, Neeraj Anand, president led a delegation of traders to the Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, PI Khateeb  who listened patiently  to all the issues  and demands of the trading community and issued directions for the immediate release of stranded vehicles at Lakhanpur  and also assured the CTF president of  taking all the corrective measures  to streamline the process at Lakhanpur Toll Post.
Prominent among those who accompanied Anand included, Kirti Gupta, Attar Singh, Yash Paul Abrol,  Parveen Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Vikram Gujral, Raman Gupta, Prag Abrol, Kewel Mahajan, Ravi Mahajan and others.
