Trade Unions, social organisations celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Aug 16: Like other parts of the country, 69th Independence Day was celebrated by various social, cultural organizations, trade unions and NGOs in the State with great pomp and show yesterday.
The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu celebrated the Independence Day at High Court complex by hoisting the National Flag which was followed by singing of the National Anthem. The Tricolour was hoisted by President of Bar Association Abhinav Sharma along with office bearers Panav Kohli, A P Singh, Depesh Singh Pawar and others. About 200 members of Bar Association attended the function. The rich tributes were paid to freedom fighters on the occasion.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS): In connection with 69th Independence Day celebrations a grand function was organized by Dogra Sadar Sabha at DSS Bhawan here in which former Minister and president of the Sabha, Gulchain Singh Charak hoisted the National Flag. Speaking on the occasion Mr Charak asked the people to preserve the values of democracy, brotherhood and communal harmony.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS): The Independence Day was celebrated by the Sabha at an impressive function at Mahjan Bhawan Shalamar road here yesterday in which the children of Mahajn community presented a patriotic song and president of the Sabha, Vinod Gupta hoisted the National Flag
Jammu Province Peoples Forum (JPPF): A grand function was organized by JPPF which is an amalgam of social, commercial and other organizations in connection with celebration of 69th Independence Day here yesterday in which M S Katoch working president of the Organisation hoisted the National Flag.
The members of the organization Inderjeet Khajuria, S Gajan Singh, Narayan Singh, M L Sharma and others attended the function.
Nami Dogri Sansthan (NDS): A grand function was held by NDS here yesterday in connection with celebration of Independence Day. On the occasion S S Anand Lehar a renowned Urdu storey writer, poet and senior advocate and patron of NDS hoisted the National Flag. The gathering on the occasion sung the patriotic songs. S K Jain, K L Deewana, Shambu Ram, Pyasa, Jaswant Singh Manhas and President of the Sanstha, Harish Kaila among others attended the function.
Peoples Republican Party (PRP) celebrated the 69th Independence Day of the country with great enthusiasm and congratulated the country men on the occasion. Chief spokesman of the organization, Mir Ghulam Rasool while paying tributes to freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukhhdev and others said people of the nation have a bounden duty to preserve the freedom and emancipate the country from hunger, poverty, and diseases and various conflicts. He said the great tribute to freedom fighters will be if we fight poverty, hunger and dreaded diseases posing threat to mankind.
Rotary Club Jammu City (RCJC): The Independence Day was celebrated by RCJC in the Army Public School Akhnoor. The function was attended by various dignitaries. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by Col (retd) Mohan and Principal of the School KCS Mehta. This was followed by recitation of National Song by entire gathering and Rotarians as well as school children. This was followed by a plantation drive by the students, staff members and Rotarians. The members of Rotary Club including Harbans Singh, Mrs and Mr Sanjeev Vaid, Mrs and Mr Robin Mehta, Gaurav Vaid, Prem Shanker Singh, Gurdev Singh Sodi and others participated.
Traders Fraternity: The traders of Shahidi Chowk, Rajinder Bazar, G M Chowk Traders Welfare Association also celebrated the Independence Day at a function held at Shaheedi Chowk Jammu in which senior BJP leader Yudhvir Sethi hoisted the National Flag. The Chairman of the Traders Welfare Association Banarsi Dass Angral and vice chairman Mohinder Gupta were also present on the occasion among others.
J&K Human Rights Watch (JKHRW): In connection with 69th Independence Day an impressive function was organised by JKHRW at its Headquarter Janipur here. A large number of people attended the function. On the occasion chairman of the organization B L Kapoor unfurled the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung by gathering which was followed by distribution of sweets.
The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Rajouri organized a folk music programme to engage local and non local folk singers on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations at Rajouri yesterday. The programme started with the welcome address by Dr Alamdar Adam Cultural Officer Rajouri.
Naeem Akhtar Education Minister of the State and District Development Board chairman Rajouri was the chief guest on the occasion. The function was attended by Kuldeep Raj Gupta vice chairman Pahari Advisory Board, M LA Rajouri Qamar Hussian, MLC Vibodh Gupta, Ex Health Minister Shabir Khan and others.
Jammu Kashmir Peoples Front (JKPF): On the occasion of Independence Day yesterday a grant function was organized by JKPF at Dogra Nagar Muthi in which Satish Poonchi chief patron of the organization hoisted the National Flag. The speakers on the occasion recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Residents Welfare Association (RWA), Pamposh Colony Janipur: On the occasion of Independence Day Bushan Lal Garyali, president RWA hoisted National Flag at a glittering function organized by Association at Janipur yesterday. Prof Mohan Lal Koul and Surinder Sharma a BJP leader delivered speeches and highlighted the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association: On the occasion of Independence Day an impressive function was held by the Association which is an affiliated wing of INTUC at Company Bagh here yesterday  under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma State president INTUC and provincial president of the Association. Raj Paul, Executive Engineer was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled the National Flag. The gathering recited the National Anthem on the occasion.
Dogra Saddar Sabha (DSS) Udhampur: The DSS Udhampur celebrated the Independence Day at a grand function in the town yesterday in which its district president Krishan Kumar hoisted the National Flag.
Lions Club Astha (LCA): The 69th Independence Day was celebrated by LCA with great enthusiasm yesterday. Different programmes were organized by the organization under the presidentship of Prem Saroop Sharma on the occasion.
All J&K Guru Nabha Dass Trust and Mahasha Sadar Sabha organized a joint function at Dogra Hall here on the occasion of 69th Independence Day yesterday in which M D Dardi and M L Rao vice chairman and Vice president of the organization hoisted the National Flag.
BJP Ward 8 and Welfare Committee headed by Naresh Sharma and Parshotam Thapa celebrated the 69th independence Day yesterday. On the occasion MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma (CA) was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on the occasion of Independence Day a grand function was organized by NMC at Pacca Danga Chowk in which National president of the organization Subash Shastri unfurled the National Flag. B S Jaswal was the chief guest while Rajinder Kumar Raju presided over the function.
Channi Himmat Welfare Committee, Sector 3, Channi Himmat organized a function in Sector 3 to celebrate the Independence Day. The president of the Committee R C Sharma hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.
Jammu Pragti Manch (JPM): In connection with celebrations of 69th Independence Day a grand function was organized by (JPM) under the presidentship of Brij Mehra. Dr Tara Singh supreme of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Foundation was the chief guest on the occasion and Brij Mehra hoisted the National Flag on the occasion.
J&K Fine Arts Society (JAKFAS): On the occasion of Independence Day a group of Indian Contemporary artists in collaboration with Kalaniketan celebrated Independence Day yesterday. Budding artist of JAKFAS painted Tri-Colour painting titled -peace for India under the guidance of JAKFAS artists Suresh Sharma. Chairperson Kalaniketan Mrs Vandana Sharma was also present of the occasion.
Canal Road Welfare Association (CRWA): The Independence Day was celebrated by CRWA at walkers track yesterday. The National Flag was hoisted by one of the senior members of the Association and MLA Sat Sharma (CA) on the occasion.
Residents Welfare Association (RWA) New Rehari: The 69th Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and show by RWA New Rehari here yesterday. In this connection a function was organized at Rajinder Park, New Rehari  by the Association in which members unfurled the National Flag which was followed by reciting of National Anthem. On the occasion State president Ram Sena Rajiv Mahajan highlighted the significance of the Day and threw light of the sacrifices of freedom fighters.
Kanav Art Centre (KAC): On the occasion of Independence Day KAC organized a function at Pacca Danga in which large number of students and parents participated. Director Kannav Gupta of Art Center hoisted the National Flag.
Shakti Punj, NGO a social organisation Hiranagar organized a grand function on the occasion of Independence Day yesterday at Shaheed Deep Chowk Hiranagar. Swami Krishnanand Ji Maharaj was the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion of Independence Day National Flag was hoisted by Som Raj Khajuria Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Barmendal (Tarra Pani) at Panchayat Ghar in presence of Panchs.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society, Trikuta Nagar: The Independence Day was celebrated by Welfare Association at Trikuta Nagar Sector 6 Main Chowk in which B D Gupta, chairman hoisted the National Flag.
Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC): The Independence Day was celebrated with great pomp and show by DNWC at Durga Nagar in which M L Pandita and D N Kissu hoisted the National Flag. The president of the Association R L Raina, P L Sudehsi and others also were present on the occasion.
Jammu Development Council (JDC): On the occasion of 69th Independence Day Krishan Lal Abrol president JDC, Jammu unfurled the National Flag. S Balvinder Singh general secretary of the organization highlighted the significance of the day on the occasion.
Tawi Vihar Residents Welfare Association, (TVRWA): On the occasion of 69th Independence Day a grand function was organized by the Association at the Central Park of Tawi Vihar Colony in which senior resident Dr V M Soodan and Bharat Bushan SDPO Nagrota unfurled the National Flag.
Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) celebrates 69th Independence Day with great pomp and show yesterday. On the occasion a grand function was held at Bagh-e-Bahu in which chairman of the Association Subedar Maj (retd) Romesh Sargotra unfurled the National Flag.
Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC),district Udhampur organized a grand function in connection with 69th Independence Day under the chairmanship of Som Nath district president of the  Organisation. On the occasion Superintendent Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Udhampur, A K Gupta hoisted the National Flag.
Rotary Club Akhnoor celebrated 69th Independence Day in the premises of Pawar Filling Station, Akhnoor. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by president of the Rotary Club Dr Ramesh Kasshyap.
