This has reference to the news item ‘Zulfkar for effectively tapping tourism potential of Pir Panchal region’ DE June 11.
The Minister has rightly stressed on chalking out a comprehensive plan to optimally tap the tourism potential of Pir region. There is great scope for tourism in this area as it is endowed with nature’s bounty in abundance. There is everything which may pamper the ego of a tourist. From lush green meadows to snow capped mountains, from sweet water of gurguling streams to cool clime of pine trees, Pirpanchal needs to explored.
Besides, Pirpanchal boasts of rich cultural diversity. The people living here have varied lifestyles, food habits and traditions. One feels mesmerised while enjoying salubrious climate of the region. The region has remained unexplored as no publicity has been given to it by the successive Governments.
It is time the Tourism Department charts a strategy to tap the tourism potential of this region. By doing so, there will be considerable improvement in socio-economic conditions of people living here.
