Tourism Minister likely to meet six MPs from J&K to take up tourism projects

NEW DELHI: Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel will soon convene a meeting of all six Members of Parliament from Jammu and Kashmir and will take concrete decision to take up projects and boost tourism sector in the state.
Mr Patel gave an assurance to this effect in Lok Sabha on Monday during Question Hour after a request on the line was made by senior parliamentarian Farooq Abdullah of National Conference.
Dr Abdullah, who is incumbent lawmaker from Srinagar, said that tourism as a sector matters a lot in Jammu and Kashmir and can help all three regions of the state – Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir region.
“Thus, it will be good if six MPs from the state are called for a meeting with the Minister,” he suggested.
Responding to him, Mr Patel said “it is a good suggestion and I will consider it”.
