JAMMU, Mar 16: In order to promote tourism and create mass awareness about new areas of tourism and pilgrim importance, a FAM tour for media persons was organized today by Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations.
Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority, Dr Bharat Bhushan informed that as per directions of Director Tourism, Jammu, R. K. Varma, the tour was conducted to showcase the pilgrim and tourism sports falling in Hiranagar, Basohli and Billawar areas of district Kathua. He added that Joint Director Information Jammu, Nagendra Singh Jamwal facilitated the FAM tour.
Around 40 media persons from Jammu and Kathua representing electronic and print media, Press Bureau of Information besides officials of Information Department and Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority were part of the FAM tour.
The FAM tour participants visited shrine of Baba Sidh Goria located at Kote Qasba-Sallan near Dayalachack, Varun Devta-Ujh Peer Baba Shrine, Billawar, Ancient Shiva Temple Billawar, Shrine of Sukrala Devi at Sukral village and Atal Setu Cable Bridge Basohli. Enroute, the team was shown ongoing works of Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority coming up at Sukrala, Phinter, Mahanpur and Marta Nagrota, Basohli.
The media persons appreciated the first of its kind FAM tour organized by Tourism and Information Departments.
Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, District Information Officer, Kathua, Indu Jamwal, Cultural Officer of Information Department, Raman Joshi, Executive Engineer, Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority, Kamal Kishore, Accounts Officer, Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority, Mehar Chand and other officials of Lakhanpur-Sarthal Develop-ment Authority and Information Department accompanied the media persons during FAM tour.
