Sir,
It has been witnessed that tourism industry in J&K is flourishing for the last some years. It is on record that more than 12 lakh tourists visited Kashmir in 2011. In 2012 the graph of tourists had risen to 20 lakhs. Tourists visit Kashmir from all most all the States and boost Kashmir tourism industry. Dal Lake and other famous lakes of Kashmir attract tourists across the country.
This year Kashmir will witness a bumper tourist season provided it remains peaceful in the months of tourist season. Our hotel and restaurant association has assured their full cooperation to the Govt of State in providing accomodation and other facilities to the tourists in the current season. At least five lakh people are directly or indirectly involved in tourism in Kashmir. The famous spots in Kashnir like Gulmarg, Phalgam, Sonamarg and Kokernag where tourists like to prolong their stay should not be exorbitantly charged. Govt should check the rate lists pertaining to tourists lodging boarding and other categories of conveniences. It is our moral duty to treat tourists our guests and it should be our endeavour to discourage cheaters. We don’t witness tourists from our country only but tourists visit our State from outside also. While returning they should carry a good picture of our hospitality and cooperation during their stay in the Valley.
Yours etc….
