JAMMU, Mar 23: Chairman Tourism Federation of Jammu, Rajesh Gupta today said that at this time of crisis when the whole world is dealing with deadly Coronavirus, everyone must cooperate with the Government and try to help in sorting out the infected people or those in doubt of having the infection.
Describing tourism industry as the most responsible industry, Rajesh Gupta said that at this hour of crisis, its stakeholders and service providers have a bigger role to play in implementing Government plans to protect India from the deadly virus. He urged hoteliers and other people connected with tourism to not put society in danger and co-operate with the Government. “If any such person comes to the hotels in UT of J&K, then the management should report such cases to the concerned authorities,” he said while citing example of Ramban, where inform was not provided about visit of a person having foreign travel history.
Rajesh Gupta further said that it is very necessary to remain calm yet follow the Government advisories issued from time to time. He urged travellers to go in for self-quarantine properly, especially those returning from other nations to India and follow the protocols set by Government properly. He assured that in case the Government needs volunteers, people connected with Tourism Federation will always be available and ready to cooperate.
Raman Suri, General Secretary Tourism Federation of Jammu, appealed the retired doctors and nurses besides paramedic staff to open their doors to general patients, so that hospitals don’t get crowded and minor ailments can be taken care of outside the hospitals. He said that these doctors must also make their phone numbers public for telephonic consultancies, so that people with minor issues can stay away from hospitals.
Raman Suri also opined that more and more Sarai and guest houses should be converted into quarantine centres or hospitals, and attempts should be made to purchase more ventilators, sanitizers, medicines, safety gear for doctors working on the forefront.
Making a fervent appeal to common people, Raman Suri said that general people should not panic by any means and must avoid hoarding food, to prevent food inflation and ensure that everyone gets sufficient amount of food.
