JAMMU, Dec 11: A meeting was convened by Deepika K Sharma, Director Tourism, Jammu with the local stakeholders for the conduct of promotional campaign in different countries and cities through road shows.
Director Tourism Jammu briefed that the Department of Tourism, Jammu would aggressively market J&K as Top Tourist Destination in the upcoming road shows to be held within and outside the country. The chair informed the stakeholders about the circuits wherein the road shows are being planned in the coming months viz. Ahmedabad Surat-Baroda, Lucknow-Varanasi-Patna-Ranchi, Bangalore-Mysore, Chennai-Kochi, Mumbai-Pune-Nasik, Nagpur-Indore-Bhopal, Kolkata Bhubneshwar-Puri at Domestic Level and Thailand-Bangladesh Indonesia, Dubai-Sharjah-Abu Dabi, Jeddah-Reyadh at International Level.
All the participating members from the Tourism Industry were of the opinion that more structured road shows be undertaken so as to accrue maximum benefit for promotion of Tourism in general and Tourism Industry in particular.
It was also decided that the road shows would include Business to Business Interactions, Business to Consumer Interfaces, press conference, invitees to leading Travel and Trade Fraternity of the visiting city etc. Besides, this, the chair advised the stakeholders to come up with more innovative ideas that could be reflected during the organization of such road shows.
During the interaction, the Director Tourism Jammu advised all the stakeholders to make a core team-cum-umbrella organization constituting of members from different organizations working in the field of Tourism in Jammu Division so that all the Sectors/regions have due representation and could synergize their efforts towards working for a single goal i.e. promotion of Jammu Tourism.
The meeting was attended by the Presidents, Chairmen and representatives of various organizations including Inderjeet Khajuria, Rajesh Chandan, Tarsem Kumar, Raman Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Raminder Sanhotra, Rajinder Sharma, Pritam Sharma, A Rohmetra, Bhuvneshwar Gandotra, BB Kotwal, Amrik Singh, Raman Suri, Sham Lal Kesar, Asif Iqbal, Siddhant Choudhary, Sonu Kohli, Raj Kumar Dubey, Ashwani Sharma, Kuldeep Luthra, Ashutosh Gupta, Daljeet Puri, Avtaar Singh and Sajid Choudhary. Besides, other officers of Tourism Department were also present.
