Top Iranian diplomat goes to Armenia, Azerbaijan

Moscow, May 25: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan on Tuesday, his second trip to the troubled Caucasus region in four months.
The Iranian foreign ministry did not disclose the agenda, although Azeri media said Zarif would raise bilateral relations, regional and international issues.
The Iranian diplomat visited Armenia and Azerbaijan shortly after a war over the Nagrono-Karabakh region, which resulted in Armenia ceding parts of the disputed province to its rival.
Iran welcomed the truce. The Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan said in March that Azeri President Ilham Aliyev invited Iran to help rebuild the war-ravaged region, and Iranian companies were waiting for details of his plan.
