JAMMU, June 28: Flaying Jal Shakti Department (JSD) for supplying contaminated water, AAP leader and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony said that JSD has failed to provide clean drinking water to the people of Jammu.
In a handout Tony claimed that for the last some days Jeevan Nagar, Ambika Colony and Lower Chowadi residents are getting contaminated water at their homes from JSD supply.
He said that if the supply of contaminated water continues then there will be a great risk to the lives of people from waterborne diseases.
The AAP leader said that people are forced to consume dirty water supplied from their taps by the JSD and there is no one to listen to such public problems which need immediate solution.
He said that people of Ambika Colony have been irked as the ex-MLA apart from AEE and JE of JSD paid no heed to the public complaints in this regard.
Tony urged upon J&K LG, Manoj Sinha and the concerned Commissioner Secretary to take action against the concerned officials for not fulfilling their responsibility and take corrective measures to ensure pure water supply to the people.
