MENDHAR, Nov 6: The toilet complex built for the public in the Tehsil Complex Mendhar in Poonch district has been locked for the last over six months.
Official sources said that Rural Development Department, under Panchayati Raj, constructed a toilet complex for the general public in the Tehsil Complex under Gohlad Upper town of Mendhar, so that many people coming daily for their works to Tehsil complex could use it. But it has been locked for many months. Not only men, the women visiting Tehsil complex are also facing hardships in the absence of toilet facility.
Local residents Mohammad Sher and Mushtaq Ahmed have accused the Tehsil administration for the issue. They said that hundreds of people have to come here, in which women are also included. They are not able to utilise this facility. The Tehsil Administration has put lock on it due to reason best known to them. They raised the question if the toilet complex was built for the people, then why it has been locked.
The general public of Mendhar town has sought the intervention of District Administration Poonch. They appealed that this toilet facility should be opened for the public at the earliest so that the people who come to the offices daily can get relief.
