“We residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony knocked every door of the Government and concerned authorities for slashing free hold rights fee and extra land regularization charges in last five years but every authority adopted delay tactics by conducting review meeting after meeting and nothing came out,” Rajinder P Kakkar, president of the Society said while addressing a press conference, here today.

He said that the residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony are mostly senior citizens and retired pensioners and have no such huge amount to pay to Jammu Development Authority (JDA) for extra land regularization charges for their spouses and grand children. They stated that the process to regularize/transfer the plot for getting loan from financial institutions or banks is very lengthy, which encourages corruption practices in JDA.
Kakkar said that the inhabitants of Trikuta Nagar Colony are ready to pay Rs 2000 per Marla as free hold right or regularize the plots with the single window system or digital portal system as JDA is regularizing the illegal land of Nanak Nagar Colony at the rate of Rs 1890 per Marla and the residents of the Colony don’t have paid any other charges whereas inhabitants of Trikuta Nagar Colony have already paid huge amount at the time of allotments also and have many years of lease of land still exist.
He requested Governor Satya Pal Malik to review the free hold rights fee as well as extra regularization charges as proposed by TNWS within week’s time otherwise all senior citizens of the Trikuta Nagar Colony will be on roads to fight for the cause.
