JAMMU, July 4: Shri Mohan Lal Kaith SSP Traffic Rural Jammu along with Behari Lal DySP Traffic Samba-Kathua today launched special naka and special drive at Samba and Vijaypur against overloading and over-speeding and various visible as well as other offences to ensure strict enforcement and hassle free vehicle movement.
A large number of vehicles were challaned and seized during the course of special drive and Naka. A total number of 517 vehicles were challaned and a total of Rs 81700 fine has been collected from violators.
Traffic Police also counseled the violators before imposition of fine. Meanwhile, special derive has also been launched in the jurisdiction of Rajouri-Poonch area.
Now, in order to deal with the menace of over-speeding and over-loading, Traffic Police Rural Jammu has asked the people to follow the traffic rules for their own safety. Kaith said that the society as a whole has to participate in this process and take responsibility for hassle free movement of vehicular traffic. He further said that enforcement drive will get more stringent in coming days.
