JAMMU, Sept 3: A delegation of Transport Nagar Association (TNA) led by its chairman, Rahul Sahai met KK Sharma, Advisor to Governor of J&K, here today and projected issues of the area.
The Advisor welcomed TNA members with suggestions on development drive for Transport Nagar.
The chairman of the Association sensitised Advisor about various critical issues faced by establishments of Transport Nagar and discussed in detail. The major issues included, JDA departmental processing issue, sanitation, street lights & low voltage, black topping of roads, water leakage in PHE pipes, handing over Transport Nagar to other departments like PWD for development of roads, JMC for sanitation & drainage, laying of new drainage system, cleaning and repair of Nallah’s, encroachments concerns, setting up of Shulabh Shauchalya’s at least at four locations in the area, repairs of dividers, maintenance and plantation, conversion of lease hold to free hold rights, lease deed issues, building bye- laws at par with JMC, double fee issues, transfer policy, parking concerns at Transport Nagar and time bound transfer of property.
Advisor Sharma admitted that Transport Nagar has been deprived of developmental issues since long and assured full support to Sahai regarding comprehensive development.
Sahai insisted on coordination between departments for real development and sensitised Advisor that VC JDA has written letters to PWD for roads, JMC for sanitation, PHE for water pipe leakages, M&RE for electricity fluctuations and also revealed that departments are reluctant in taking over Transport Nagar.
The Association also sensitised Advisor that Transport Nagar is willing to pay charges for sanitation and transfer of property in JDA , but there are no takers.
Advisor discussed issues with the dealing officers present in the meeting to solve the grievances . Delegation was dealt with very positive working atmosphere.
