LEH, Sept 21: Member Parliament, Thupstan Chhewang visited Burma, Charasa, Kuri, Murgi, Kubed, Ayee, Aranu Yokma & Gongma, Khemi, Nyunsted, Yarma Gonbo, Tongsted, Henachi, lChanglung, Sasoma and Taksha villages, besides flood-hit areas and took stock of the problems being faced by the people of these villages.
The M P was accompanied by Jigmet Raftan, Block Development Officer, Panamik.
Sarpanches and Gobas of the villages demanded construction of irrigation khuls, opening of health centers, school up-gradations, link roads and relief for flood victims.
The problems projected by the villagers were realignment of road with a bridge at Khemi Tokpo, LPG home delivery service, electricity connection from Alchi Hydro Power to Nobra, tourist permit to Yarma Gonbo, installation of mobile towers, protection bands at Burma, Charasa and Kuri, motorable bridge on Siachan River at Sasoma-Aranu, relaxation of KCC Loans for flood victims, extension of Radio and TV transmission etc.
People of Aranu Gongma strongly complained against LAHDC Leh for indifferent treatment with the village as their long pending demand of a Medical Aid Centre still remains a dream for them.
Mr Chhewang also visited Deskit Gonpa, Lhargyab Patsathang, Skuru-Tertse, Hundri, Udmaru, Skamphuk, Hunder, Deskit villages and took stock of the damages caused by recent floods and rains.
The sufferers projected several demands and the MP assured for all possible assistance to the affected people.
The M P was accompanied by Mandal president of BJP Nobra, Angchuk, Captain, Ex EC, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Delaik and concerned village level party workers.
