JAMMU, June 12: Five persons including three cops of J&K police were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, three constables of J&K police who were going on a single bike (bearing registration No JK02A-5283) were hit and injured by a Maruti car (having registration No JK02R-5550) at flyover opposite to Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu, this morning.
The injured cops have been identified as Constable Karanpal Singh (Belt No 1078/J) son of Chain Singh of Reasi, Constable Sahil Sharma (Belt No 1273/J) son of Yashpal Sharma of Nanak Nagar, Jammu and Constable Vikas Choudhary (Belt No 2440/J) son of Varinder Kumar of Shastri Nagar, Jammu.
A youth identified as Rajeshwar (26) son of Vijay Kumar of Bakshi Nagar was also injured when the bike he was riding on was hit by a water tanker at Greater Kailash area of city outskirts.
A biker was also hit and injured by a mini-bus here at Canal Road. The injured has been identified as Vipan Gupta (65) son of Rattan Lal Mahajan, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, Canal Road, Jammu.
A 37-year-old bike borne youth was also injured this morning when his bike got slipped at Akhnoor. The injured has been identified as Suleman son of Abdul Ghani, a resident of Bhangati, Akhnoor.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, for treatment. In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
