JAMMU, Sept 11: Three persons were killed while two others were injured today in three separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, today at about 6.30 pm an empty trailer bearing registration number PB06V-2749 coming from Greater Kailash ran over a bike (registration number JK02BH-9487) on National Highway at Greater Kailash Chowk.
In the mishap, the bike rider namely Mahesh Kumar (42) son of Swarn Kumar, resident of Sector No 1, Channi Himmat and pillion rider namely Khushi (10) daughter of Jitender, resident of Channi, were killed on the spot. The dead bodies of both the deceased were shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem.
In this connection, a case FIR No 67/2017 under Sections 279, 304A RPC was registered at police station Gangyal and further investigations started while the driver of trailer namely Avtar Singh son of Suba Singh, resident of Kuhar, Gurdaspur (Punjab) was arrested and both the vehicles involved in the mishap seized.
Meanwhile, an employee of Health and Medical Education Department namely Mohit (30) son of Subhash Chander, resident of Ward No 4, RS Pura, received serious injuries when a bike on which he was going on, was hit by a rashly driven scooty at RS Pura near SKUAST, Jammu. He was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The deceased was presently posted at Government Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for postmortem while RS Pura police had registered a case in this connection and seized both the vehicles involved in the mishap.
A road mishap also occurred at Jhajjar Kotli where a speeding auto bearing registration number JK20-0248, plunged into Jhajjar Nullah on Domail- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University road. In the mishap, two occupants of the vehicle namely Rajinder Kumar son of Yog Raj, resident of Kotla and Rashpaul son of Madan Lal resident of Sool, received serious injuries. They were shifted to Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Kakrayal, Katra for treatment. In this connection, Jhajjar Kotli police had taken cognizance.
