JAMMU, Mar 24: Three persons were killed, while 21 others including four Army jawans were injured in road accidents at different locations.
As per reports, two persons died while one sustained critical injuries when the Tata Sumo they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge near Khellani Nallah in district Doda.
The driver of the ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-6776 failed to negotiate a sharp curve resulting the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a deep nallah near Khellani Nallah in Doda, causing grievous injuries to three persons.
Immediately after the mishap, police with the help of locals launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to District Hospital Doda, where doctors declared two persons namely Tariq Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Udhyanpurand and Mudassir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Hanief Hajam of Bair Bagh Beoli as brought dead.
After preliminary treatment, the seriously injured Ahsan Ahmed, son of Abdul Subhan of Mohalla Akram Abad, district Doda was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, a JCB driver and his associate were seriously injured, when the motorcycle they were riding on was hit by a GREF vehicle near bridge at Bathuni, district Rajouri.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to District Hospital Rajouri, where doctors pronounced JCB driver namely Rinku (18), son of Om Parkash of Ransoo, district Reasi as brought dead.
After first-aid, the injured namely Chaman Lal alias Sonu (17), son of Romesh Chander of Pouni, district Reasi was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for specialized treatment.
In another incident, 10 passengers were injured when the mini-bus (JK11-1893) they were traveling in collided head-on with an Army vehicle near Qila Darhal in tehsil Nowshera.
All the injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Nowshera in police and other vehicles, where after first aid all were discharged.
A lady and her son were injured, when the Maruti car they were travelling in collided with an Innova car near Teli Bari, tehsil Chenani, district Udhampur.
The injured identified as 65-year-old Lalita Devi, wife of Behari Lal of Bhaderwah and her son Manoj Thakur (43) were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Chenani, where they were responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
Meanwhile, six persons including four Army jawans were injured in accident between Ford Figo car and Army vehicle near Dogra Morh, tehsil Chenani, district Udhampur.
The Ford Figo vehicle bearing registration number JKO1F-8227 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when it collided with an army vehicle near Dogra Morh in tehsil Chenani, resulting into serious injuries to two persons. After the accident, the driver of the Army vehicle lost control over the steering, resulting the vehicle plunged into 30 feet deep gorge, causing injuries to four Army jawans.
The police and locals rushed to the spot, started rescue operation and shifted all the injured to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Batote in police and other vehicles.
The injured have been identified as Rajesh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Pathania and Sawinder, all Army jawans, Altaf Ahmed (46), son of Mohammad Atif and Munir Ahmed (26), son of Abdul Majid, both residents of Srinagar.

A man was injured, when the scooty he was riding on was hit by a motorcycle bearing registration number JK14C-0783 near Chowk Chabutra in district Udhampur.
The injured identified as 34-year-old Pawan Gupta, son of Yash Pal Gupta of Shiv Palace was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at concerned police station and investigation started.
