Heroin, US-made pistol, vehicles seized

JAMMU, Apr 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three hardcore criminals in Bishnah area in two separate cases, recovering heroin, a pistol, live cartridges and vehicles from their possession.
Addressing media persons here, SP Headquarters Jammu, Anna Sinha said in the first case, one Amit Kumar of Sehora, who is involved in six FIRs related to attempt to murder and abduction, was apprehended.
She said 254 grams of heroin (chitta), 13 live cartridges and a USA-made Beretta pistol was recovered from his possession, besides seizing a Baleno car bearing registration number JK21G-3867.
In another operation, the police officer said that two accused identified as Lovely Singh and Swaran Singh, both residents of R S Pura, were arrested.
A Thar vehicle bearing registration number JK02DJ-9906, 16 grams of heroin, six mobile phones and Rs 25,000 cash was recovered from their possession, the SP Headquarters Jammu further said.
She said the accused are also involved in serious crimes including abduction and attempt to murder, and further investigation is underway to uncover their wider criminal links.
According to the police officer, all the accused have been booked under relevant sections of law as part of a sustained crackdown on organized crime and drug trafficking, reiterating zero tolerance against such activities and vowing to dismantle the entire network.
