Three-day series of Dogri play ‘Shah Shahni’ concludes

JAMMU, Nov 7: Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) here today successfully concluded its three-day series of staging Dogri play ‘Shah Shahni’ written and directed by Rajneesh Kumar Gupta.
On day 1, the play was staged at Central University of Jammu (CUJ) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain. The event was a joint coordination of Dean Students Welfare, Department of Hindi and other Indian languages, CUJ and VKK.
On day 2 the play was staged at MIET College under the patronage of Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson and Prof. Ankur Gupta. Dr. Nirmal Vinod, renowned poet was chief guest.
On concluding day, the play was staged at Senior Citizens Support Service Club, Chowadi where it was witnessed and applauded by renowned literary personality Prof. Veena Gupta.
S.K Sharma, Commissioner Income Tax (Retd.); Dr. Kasturi Lal Gupta, Chairperson of the Club; Ashok Gupta, Major General (Retd.); Santosh Sangra, well known poetess and drama artist and others were also present on the occasion.
The play is based on unsuccessful story of two lovers who had to sacrifice their love due to religious barriers as well as partition of India.
Artist who performed in the play were Rajneesh, Meera Tapasvi, Madan Rangila, Amit Bhalla, Rekha Sharma, Rishab Manhas and Tarun Charak.
Music of the play was nicely executed by Mohit Mehra. Prashant Sharma, Yuvraj Gupta and John Peter handled the management.
