Three-day International Conference inaugurated at JU

JAMMU, Feb 21: In the three day International Conference at Jammu University,  wherein Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar Vice Chancellor  said that in this fast changing world technological advancements have reshaped the literature and digitization of literature has made it more accessible and has also promoted this access to a wider and increasingly diverse audience.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 13th International MELUS-MELOW conference on the theme  “In a Wired World: Literature in the Age of Information Technology” organized by the Department of English, University of Jammu in collaboration with MELUS (India)- The society for the Study of the Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the United States- India Chapter & MELOW- The Society for the study of the Multi-Ethnic Literatures of the World- India Chapter.
Prof Ishar said that the three-day long conference will provide the delegates and the participants from India and abroad the platform where they can share their ideas and experiences and can interact with each other on the theme of the conference.
Prof Ishar also congratulated the organizing committee and Department of English for organizing a 13th International MELUS-MELOW conference on such an innovative theme.
Earlier Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu and chief  guest of the conference also released the souvenir of the Conference and MELUS-MELOW Journal.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr Ravinder Singh, organizing secretary of the Conference.
Dr Garima Gupta conducted the proceedings of the function.
Among others present on the occasion include Prof. Sushila Singh, President MELOW, Prof. Neelam Saraf, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof  Kulwant Kour, Dean Research Studies Prof. Manoj Dhar, Registrar, Prof Desh Bandu, Director, College Development Council, Prof D S Jamwal, President JUTA, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Rector, Kathua Campus, Prof Jasbir Singh, Provost Hostels, Shailender Singh, renowed Dogri Writer, Deans, Heads of various teaching Departments, faculty members, scholars and students.
