Three arrested with 35 tolas stolen gold ornaments

JAMMU, May 28: Gandhi Nagar police arrested three persons and recovered around 35 tolas of stolen gold ornaments.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) South Vinay Sharma said while interacting with media persons here today.
Giving details, SP said that on April 3 this year, a complaint was lodged by Kuldeep Bajwa, son of late Lal Singh, a resident of Subash Nagar Digiana with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that some unknown person(s) entered into his house and decamped with gold ornaments and Rs 30,000 cash when they were out of the house for some work.

Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 89/19 under section 454 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police team rounded up several suspects and based on leads, three persons were arrested, SP said, adding that the arrested persons were identified as Ankush Massi, son of Arshad Massi of Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, Pardep Singh, son of Dev Raj Singh of District Reasi and Mohammad Tariq, son of Mohammad Aslam of Bhagtha Katra District Reasi.
“On the disclosure of Ankush Massi, 33 tolas of stolen gold ornaments wanted in different cases registered with Gandhi Nagar and Domana Police Stations was recovered”, Sharma said, adding that on the disclosure of Pardeep Singh and Mohammad Tariq, snatched gold chain weighing 2.5 tolas wanted in a case registered with Police Station Gandhi Nagar was recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases, SP asserted.
