CEO lauds district administration for voter engagement, awareness
PULWAMA, May 7: Thousands of enthusiastic voters today thronged the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme conveying their eagerness to participate in building a strong nation by choosing their right representative through the power of their ballot.
The mega event, organized by the District Election Office at Government Women’s Degree College, Pulwama, was attended by Chief Election officer, J&K, P K Pole who appreciated the local administration for ensuring such a huge voter gathering in the event reflecting their commitment towards achieving highest voter turnover in the district.
More than five thousand voters including youth, women, general public, Persons with Disabilities and others, exuberantly participated in the event. Multiple activities were organized to engage the participants, including sports such as Kho-Kho, Carrom, Chess, Tug of War and Badminton. Additionally, cultural programs featuring skits, ladishah performances and singing showcased the vibrant talent among the youth voters and school students.
The Chief Electoral Officer emphasized the significance of voter engagement and participation in the democratic process for establishing a progressed society with equal opportunities for all to grow and prosper.
P K Pole also launched a plantation drive aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and community involvement as part of the ongoing SVEEP program. “The plantation drive is a testament to our commitment not only to promote voter awareness and participation but also to address pressing environmental challenges. By integrating tree planting activities into our SVEEP program, we are leveraging the power of collective action to create a positive impact on both the electoral process and the environment”, he maintained.
