Thousands of devotees converge for annual Trishul Bhaint Yatra

BHADERWAH, July 18: To seek blessings of Chandi Mata, thousands of devotees from different parts of the State converged at Chandi Mata Temple, Chinote on the eve of its Sathapna Divas and annual Trishul Bhaint Yatra, today.
Thousands of devotees started gathering in long queues since last night to celebrate the birthday of the head priest, Guru Kulbir Singh Jamwal and to seek blessings of Goddess Chandi at famous Chinote Temple.
Spiritual Guru and head priest Kulbir Singh Jamwal said that to avoid inconvenience to they decided to celebrate annual Trishul Bhaint Yatra with the Satphna Divas of this temple.
“We are trying our best to accommodate all the pilgrims and administration had also contributed by providing adequate security, traffic management and drinking water, but we expect more from the administration in view of increasing rush of pilgrims round the year”, Jamwal added.
Sonali Dogra, a pilgrim and famous singer from Jammu said that this give her immense pleasure and inner satisfaction after seeking the blessings of Maa Chandi.
Meanwhile, the Trishul Bhaint Yatra which started from Radhey Sham Temple Doda in the morning and reached Chinote Temple in the afternoon in the form of huge procession.
About 70 to 80 busses and nearly 150 light motor vehicles full of devotees reached Bhaderwah from Doda while chanting religious slogans.
Devotees were received and welcomed by ADC Bhaderwah Pawan Kumar Parihar along with Additional SP Rajinder Singh, SDPO Touseef Rishu, SHO Inspector Munir Khan and locals with zeal and zest.
Enroute from Doda to Chinote, arrangements were made for drinking water and eatables at several places including Bhalla, Seri, Neota, Drudu, Daranga, Gatha and Udrana.
The pilgrimage after reaching Chandi Mata Temple paid obeisance to the deity Chandi Mata and took the blessings after handing over the trishul to Guru Kulbir Singh Jamwal.
It is notable to mention here that, Trishul Bhaint Yatra marks the beginning of annual Machail Yatra, as trident (Trishul) which is brought from Doda will be taken to Machail Padder in District Kishtwar, in the form of “Pavitra Charri” (Holy Mace) after one month of ‘Puja’ at Chandi Mata Temple Chinote Bhaderwah.
The security and other arrangements were made by administration for the smooth conduct of holy Trishul Bhaint Yatra and Satphna Divas of Chandi Mata Temple Chinote.
“We had made elaborate security arrangements by deploying sleuths of JKP, JKAP and CRPF en-route Doda to Bhaderwah and also at premises of the temple”, said Additional SP Bhaderwah Rajinder.
