NEW DELHI, Sept 15: The Third India-Bangladesh Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting to be co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, is scheduled to be held here on September 20.
Mr Ali will lead a high-level delegation to India for this meeting.
The JCC was constituted under the Framework Agreement on Cooperation for Development signed during the visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to Bangladesh in September 2011. The first meeting of the JCC was held in New Delhi in May 2012 and the second in Dhaka in February 2013. The forthcoming JCC meeting will focus on review of progress on initiatives in various sectors of the relationship, identify thrust areas and give directions for further growth of the bilateral partnership.
During his stay in India, the Bangladesh Foreign Minister will call on President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is also scheduled to have separate meetings with various members of the Indian Cabinet.
