JAMMU, Sept 1: Satwari Police busted thieves’ gang with the arrest of four persons along with stolen items.
As per police sources, several complaints were lodged from time to time in Police Station Satwari regarding theft cases in its jurisdiction. On this, different FIRs were registered in Police Station Satwari and investigation was started.
To work out the theft cases, a team from Police Station Satwari led by SHO Inspector Deepak Jasrotia was constituted under the supervision of SDPO South PK Mengi.
The team did strenuous efforts and after connecting various leads including analysis of CCTVs footages along with timely human intervention, finally busted the thieves gang with the arrest of its four members.
The arrested persons were identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Raka, son of Mahavir Singh of Kabir Basti BC Road District Jammu, Himanshu Gill alias Prince, son of Anthony Gill of Rehari District Jammu, Sameer Ahmed, son of Mubashir Hussain of District Kishtwar and Karan Kumar alias Bittu, son of Krishan Lal of Kabir Basti BC Road District Jammu.
On their disclosure, stolen items including two bikes, 5 mobile phones, 9 currency notes garlands of Rs 100 and Rs 500, currency notes of denominations Rs 20, Rs 10 and Rs 5 amounting to Rs 9145 stolen from Ramnagar area of District Udhampur and 45 smoking sticks bundles were recovered.
Tools used for house breaking and two three wheeler autos used for commission of thefts have also been seized.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
