JAMMU, Sept 21: Unidentified thieves struck a house in the Kachhi Chawni area here and made off with valuables, including gold, silver ornaments, electronic gadgets, and other costly items worth several lakhs.
Officials said the house belonged to one Deepika Bhasin, daughter of late J C Bhasin.
They said the burglary took place when the family was in Delhi, leaving the residence unoccupied.
The thieves reportedly carried away gold and silver ornaments, coins, LPG cylinders, refrigerators, inverters with batteries, landline phones, cameras, carpets, iPhones, LEDs, geysers, dinner sets, clothes, and other expensive household articles.
The incident came to light after the victim family lodged a complaint through e-mail.
Acting on the complaint, police have registered a case under the relevant sections at Pacca Danga Police Station and started further investigation into the matter to identify and nab the culprits involved in the burglary.
