JAMMU, Feb 2: Peer Mitha Police arrested a thief within 48 hours.
As per police sources, on January 31 this year a written complaint was lodged by Ishant Mahajan, son of Vinod Mahajan President Market association Jammu Lakhdata Bazaar Jammu regarding theft of iron drain covers.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 05/2022 Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Peer Mitha and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Station Peer Mitha led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO City Sharad Kalu and SP City Kulbir Handa conducted series of raids in different areas and finally nabbed the thief.
The arrested thief was identified as Aalm Din, son of Abdul Gani of Macca Masjid Bathindi District Jammu.
On his disclosure, police team recovered 7 numbers of iron drain covers. Auto bearing registration number JK02BF-1956 usually used by arrested person for stealing has also been seized.
Further questioning of the arrested thief is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
