Thief arrested, stolen property worth several lakhs recovered

JAMMU, Jan 21: Sarwal police arrested a thief and recovered stolen property worth several lakhs from his possession.
As per police sources, on January 15 this year, a complaint was lodged by Ankush Abrol, son of Ratish Chander of Rehari Colony, Sarwal with Police Station Bakshi Nagar regarding theft at his home.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 15/2020 under section 454 and 380 Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by Incharge Police Post Sarwal SI Vishav Partap Katoch was constituted.
The team rounded up several suspects and finally arrested the thief, who has been identified as Sahil Dogra, son of Garu Ram of Bakshi Nagar, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, stolen property worth Rs 3.25 lakh comprising gold and silver ornaments and cash were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
