Thief arrested, stolen mobile phones recovered

JAMMU, May 2: Janipur police arrested a thief and recovered three stolen mobile phones and Rs 3000 cash from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was filed by Chanku Ram, son of Amar Nath, a resident of Top Paloura with Police Station Janipur starting that during the intervening night of April 21 and 22 some unknown persons had stolen his three mobile phones valuing Rs 42800 and cash Rs 3000 from his shop Hari Om Enterprises at Top Paloura.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Janipur and investigation started.
During investigation, many suspects were rounded up and one of the persons identified as Rajat Kumar, son of Kasturi Lal of RS Pura, at present Paloura confessed to commit the theft.
On his disclosure, police recovered three stolen mobile phones and Rs 3000 cash.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft case.
Police team led by SHO Janipur Inspector Virender Gupta made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Jammu Sugandha Mahajan and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
