Thief arrested, stolen gold ornaments recovered

JAMMU, Mar 24: Channi Himmat Police arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments weighing 8.8 tolas.
As per police sources, on 17/10/2021 a complaint was lodged at Police Post Sainik Colony by a person namely Sher Singh Jasrotia, son of late Chamail Singh Jasrotia of Sainik Colony District Jammu stating that some unknown persons have stolen gold ornaments and cash from his residential house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 167/2021 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Channi Himmat and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, various suspected persons were rounded up and questioned thoroughly. Several CCTV cameras around the area were analysed and finally the thief was arrested, who was identified as Parveez Ahmed Bazdar, son of Abdul Rashid Bazdar of Malipeth District Kishtwar.
On his disclosure, police team recovered the stolen gold ornaments weighing about 8.8 tolas.
It is pertinent to mention here that the said accused person is a habitual offender and is involved in many theft cases registered with various Police Stations of J&K.
Further investigation is going on and more recovery and arrests are likely to be made.
Police team led by SHO Channi Himmat Inspector Deepak Katoch and assisted by Incharge Police Post Sainik Colony PSI Bhawani Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City East Jammu Zaheer Jafri, SP City South Jammu Mamta Sharma and of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
