UDHAMPUR, Oct 27: Police has worked out a theft case under the jurisdiction of Udhampur Police Station and arrested the accused besides recovering the stolen batteries.
The arrested accused has been identified as Mohd Aslam, son of Shabeer Hussain of Rathian, Londana. A total of 16 batteries were recovered from his possession, He had stolen these batteries from the different vehicles in Udhampur town.
Apart from arresting the alleged thief, Udhampur Police has also booked a scrap merchant, identified as Govind Kumar Bhatia, son of Late Shankar Dass of Garhi, Raini, Udhampur , under section 411 IPC, who had purchased all these stolen batteries from the said thief.
The arrests and recoveries were affected by the Police team, led by SHO Udhampur Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan, DySP Hqrs Udhampur. Police is also working on the involvement of some more accused in the case.
