JAMMU, June 2: The day after one labourer of Ware House reported COVID-19 positive, Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu on Tuesday launched a drive to conduct thermal screening of all labourers, employees and traders working in this wholesale market.
The drive was organized under the supervision of Rattan Lal Gupta, President Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market.
Around two thousand workers work in this market and thermal screening of labourers was done on the first day.
According to General Secretary of Federation, Deepak Gupta, a labourer working in ware house tested corona positive. This create panic among the workers and traders, Because of this the whole mandi also remained closed yesterday. Whole mandi was sanitized yesterday with the help of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), he informed.
“Today the Federation took the initiative of thermal screening of its manpower. The Federation is taking every precautionary step to ensure that no worker or businessman gets infected”, he added.
He said that the workers, employees and traders are being checked from time to time and in this direction a thermal screening camp was organized today.
On the occasion, free face masks and sanitizers were distributed among labourers, employees and traders of Ware House Nehru Market.
Senior Vice President Dheeraj Gupta, Vice President Munish Mahajan, Secretary Abhimanyu Gupta and Cashier Vishal Gupta were also present.
