Thefts at Vijay Nagar, Shankar Vihar

JAMMU, Aug 6: Unidentified thieves struck two separate houses in Vijay Nagar and Shankar Vihar areas of Jammu, decamping with gold, cash, household fittings, and other valuables worth lakhs.
In the first incident at Vijay Nagar, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Post Pouni Chak, thieves broke into the house of one Sunil Koul, who was in Srinagar for his father’s surgery.
The burglars stole around 3 tolas of gold, Rs 15,000 in cash, and several water taps from the residence.
Koul said he was alerted by relatives who noticed broken locks on the main gate and doors.
In the second incident, reported from Shankar Vihar under Police Post Tallab Tillo, thieves looted the house of one Bhushan Rawal, who had been staying in Delhi for about a month due to a medical emergency.
His relatives discovered the theft and informed him. The stolen items include garments, cash, water taps, and other valuables.
Police have registered separate cases at the concerned police stations and launched investigations to trace the accused.
