Theft case worked out, stolen items worth Rs 4.10 lakhs recovered

JAMMU, Mar 18: Police claimed today that they have worked out a theft case and arrested two persons with stolen items worth Rs 4.10 lakhs from Domana area.
A police spokesperson said that two different complaints were lodged at Police Station Domana regarding theft of gold jewellery worth Rs 3.50 lakhs and house hold items worth Rs 60000 from the house of the complainants at Manorma Vihar, Paloura, and Purkhoo Jammu.
Accordingly, he said, two cases FIR number 444/2022 under sections 454, 380 of IPC and FIR number 100/2023 under sections 454, 380 of the IPC were registered at Police Station Domana and further investigations taken up.
After this, the police spokesperson further said that special police teams of Police Station Domana led by SDPO Sunil Singh, assisted by PSI Danish Qaiser Gazali and ASI Abdul Rasheed rounded up two accused, Deepak Kumar alias Deepu of Kalka Colony, Bagh-e-Bahu, Jammu and Niting Bindra alias Mithu of Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu.
“During questioned, the accused confessed their involvement in the crimes and on their disclosure stolen items worth Rs 4.10 lakh were recovered,” said the police spokesperson, adding that further investigations are on.
