Theft case worked out in Samba’s Ghagwal; accused held, stolen cash recovered

SAMBA, Feb 27: Police in Samba’s Ghagwal area claimed today they have worked out a theft case by arresting one person and recovering from his possession stolen cash of Rs 37000.
A police official said on February 25, 2025, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Rajpura of Police Station Ghagwal by one Sanjeev Kumar son of Bisakhi Ram of Dhulma Chak, tehsil Rajpura, district Samba, regarding theft of Rs 37000 from Kul Devasthan Baba Bali Karan, Dhulma Chak.
On this, he said, a case FIR number 34/2025 under sections 305, 331(1) of the BNS was registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, a police team headed by Incharge Police Post Rajpura apprehended one suspect identified as Surinder Kumar of Ramloo, tehsil Ramgarh, district Samba, who during sustained questioning confessed to his involvement in the crime.
On his disclosure, the stolen cash was recovered from his possession and further investigation set into motion, added the police official.
