Theft case solved, two arrested by Domana police

JAMMU, Feb 11: Domana police has solved a theft case of mobile phones by arresting two thieves and recovering stolen items.
The case was solved by Domana police within 15 days of the occurrence of theft, said SDPO Domana, Kosheen Koul, while addressing a press conference today.
The officer informed media persons that some thieves broke opened the wall of a mobile shop under the name and style “As Mobile and Electronics” on January 23 and stole 42 mobile phones and 47 headphone accessories worth Rs 5-6 lakh from the shop.
He said the owner of the shop, Romesh Kumar Chander son of Om Parkash of Patniyal (Akalpur) lodged a written complaint of theft at police station Domana and accordingly, a case FIR Number 23/2021 under Sections 457/380 IPC was registered.
The SDPO said that the Domana police examined the CCTV footage and required dump data collected from the concerned and after through examination, a number of suspects were rounded up. He said during sustain questioning, two suspects namely Gourab Panday son of Mangal Ram and Arun Kumar son of Kuldeep Kumar, both residents of Patniyal (Akalpur) admitted to have committed the offence.
The officer said that on the disclosure of the accused, the recovery of stolen mobile phones and accessories was made. The whole operation was conducted by SHO Domana Ravi Kant (now transferred) and his team under the directions of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and under the direct supervision of SP Rural Sanjay Sharma and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
